In 20 years, Portugal will have a 100% renewable trend in the power generation
“In 20/30 years, the most developed countries – and Portugal can be included in this group – will use a portfolio of generation technologies that is 100% tendentiously renewable in terms of the primary energies used such as solar, wind power, hidropower, biomass and even geothermal resources in order to satisfy the demand for power generation”, commented João Abel Peças Lopes, Associate Director of INESC TEC and Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). With the motto “Energy systems with 100% electrical energy resulting from renewable sources”, the debate on the energy systems of the future will begin in Porto on 29 May, the day in which it is celebrated the National Energy Day.
