POCITYF
The POCITYF project kicks off with a strong contribution from the SGEVL for the development and demonstration of several technologies for electric mobility, energy storage and renewable production.

InterConnect
The largest European collaborative project, funded by the H2020 and led by a Portuguese institution - INESC TEC -, is approved by the European Commission. In the InterConnect project, the SGEVL will have an important role in testing and demonstrating some of the main technologies developed, that represent a new chapter in the digitalization of the electrical sector.

The prototypes of an electric vehicle charger
The prototypes of an electric vehicle charger and a hybrid inverter developed by the SGEVL for the InteGrid project were submitted to functional and safety tests for the first time by a certified external entity, having been pre-approved according to the international standards.
2018
SENSIBLE
A low voltage rural network has successfully operated in isolated mode with technology developed by several parterns of the European project SENSIBLE, including two storage units and advanced tools for network management developed by INESC TEC Centre for Power and Energy Systems.
2017
SGEVL application to the RNIE
SGEVL application to the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures of Stratigic Interest (RNIE) is approved, giving the prestige and the funding to the lab to reinforce the existante equipment, develop new services and welcome Master and PhD students.
2015
First demonstration of the technology
First demonstration of the technology developed and tested at the SGEVL under real operating conditions (Graça do Divor, Évora) under the scope of the European project SuSTAINABLE.
2014
First provisional patent request
First provisional patent request (https://www.inesctec.pt/en/technologies/acdc-cube#intro ). The international recognition of the work developed in power electronics was achievied in the following years, with the patent granted in the USA and Japan.
2012
First project (REIVE)
Conclusion and public presentation of the results of the first project (REIVE). The SGEVL moved to its final facilities located at INESC TEC headquarters.
2010
Creation of the SGEVL
Motivated by the common will of the academy and industry to develop and demonstrate new concepts for the smart grids, under the scope of the national project REIVE.
